We had never imagined that Sofia would love this beach so much. She kept falling and getting up and just having a lot of fun. We sat and ate some wonderful fresh shrimp ceviche. This is the area where most of the shrimp we eat comes from.

We did not have a birthday party at home for Sofia, but one evening on board we went to a fancy dinner and celebrated Sofia's 5th birthday, what a special treat for all of us to celebrate such a special occasion like that!

The guide insisted on taking a picture with the grass... later on he explained of their endless efforts to keep the grass green in such a hot and dry area. I couldn't tell him that we have green grass in our backyard almost all year round.

Sofia enjoyed runing around trying to catch a pigeon. To her surprise, a local boy got one and brought it to her... she realized some are more serious about things!

This is the first day of our holiday; we took a cruise down to Mexico and we had a lot of fun. We flew to San Diego, where we spent one night before we board. As you can see, the kids easily understood that the whole point of vacations is to relax.

Yes! the day finally came! We took our first cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles. We spent six relaxing days visiting cities, spending time as a family, swimming in the pools, eating well: having time off from the usual routine! SO NICE!

Tomas thought he was in a kind of heaven when we went Strawberry picking. He LOVED helping himself to really fresh strawberries. (Note the smart move from Mama to dress him in red!!!!)

Sofia and Tomas loved uncle's Pierre's and tante Jacithe's visit, especially the music... Sofia was too busy dancing around and Tomas was mesmerized by the music.

In a more intimate setting, we celebrated Tomas' first birthday with a typical English cream tea. Mama baked scones and of course we got clotted cream and jam... yes we still miss England very much and would have love to have all our English friends with us to share this very happy occasion.

Chris went to Puerto Rico on a business trip for a week; he was lucky to have a day and a half free to visit the island. For those of you who know my husband, you won't be surprised to see these photos of him doing some 'touring' in the jungle.
